While doing the inventory of what all the things purchased for my next trip to Iraq on Visa and hoping DVD sales cover it, I came to the conclusion that is strange for a civillian to own Kevlar vests, a Kevlar helmet, ballistic sunglasses, four TV cameras tape by the gross. I also own a set of Nomex coveralls.  I've been on fire once and have been inside a burning building.  Fire doesn't scare me, what fire does to flesh and everything else it comes in contact with scares me.

The last time had similar moment of clarity was while eating lunch with a Shiek in the village of Karmah when I thought to myself, "this sure is a strange way to make a living."

What kind a man owns kevlar vests, helmets, a Nomex jumpsuit and ballistic sunglasses?

It is like being a hold over from the mid-nineties militia craze in Montana.  The only thing missing is my Republic of Texas passport.

Then, throw in the TV cameras and the back room of VCF world HQ in Salina looks like a that of cybergeek preparing for a final showdown with the ATF.

The only thing missing is the firearms.  Plenty of Alcohol and Tobacco though.

This is definately and odd line of barely profitable work I have chosen.

When this whole GWOT thing is over, I'm gonna get a normal job.
